President Biden warns of nuclear 'Armageddon' at Democratic fundraiser

President Biden put the nation on high alert Thursday, announcing that a nuclear “Armageddon” is a real possibility given Russia's recent setbacks in its 8-month war in Ukraine.

At a Democratic fundraiser hosted by James Murdoch, Biden called Russian Czar Vladimir Putin "a guy I know pretty well" - and added that Putin "wasn't kidding when he talked about the use of tactical nuclear or biological or chemical weapons."

Biden went on to say, "We haven't faced the prospect of Armageddon since Kennedy and the Cuban Missile Crisis." He also hinted that Putin's threat is tangible "because his military is, one might say, grossly underperforming".

The Cuban Missile Crisis lasted 13 days in 1962, following the deployment of nuclear weapons by the Soviet Union in Cuba...prompting the Kennedy administration to launch a naval blockade of the island.

As far as the public knows, this is the closest nuclear war the United States has ever achieved.
