Russia conducts Vostok-2022 exercises with China

Russia and China have launched a major show of military force against the West - with over 50,000 troops, 140 aircraft and 60 warships on display.

As Vladimir Putin's forces struggle in his war against Ukraine, the Vostok-2022 exercises are thousands of miles away from the devastating conflict in Europe.

But with 5,000 military vehicles on display, the purpose of the Pacific drills is to demonstrate Moscow's and Beijing's common will to stand up to the West.

In addition, they also have other "allies" like India - much to America's annoyance - and Mongolia join them.

However, the drills overshadow Russia's annoyance at China's lack of concrete military and technical support in the Ukrainian conflict.

But Beijing today offered words of support to Vladimir Putin, with China's ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui accusing NATO of expanding eastward five times by deploying large numbers of advanced strategic offensive weapons in Eastern Europe.

Also, trying to establish itself in the Asia-Pacific region.

“In fact, it is not China and Russia that pose a systemic challenge to NATO, but rather NATO is gradually becoming a serious threat to global peace and security,” Zhang told the Global Times.

At the same time, the West was undermining the global economy with its sanctions targeting Russia, he said.
