Sara Battaglia RTW Fall 2023

Sara Battaglia has added a heavy dose of girl power to this minimalist and elegant collection with a retro touch. She drew inspiration from the 1939 film "The Women" and Cher's song "Strong Enough" for this feminine collection featuring clean lines, sharp cuts and a no-nonsense attitude.

Battaglia said he wanted to dress women in a "powerful, sophisticated and elegant" way, giving them shapes, colors and textures that allow them to be proud of their bodies, no matter their size, shape or age.

Looks included a range of floor-length cape dresses, ideal for sweeping into a fashionable room in delay; jackets with rounded shoulders and turtleneck dresses with long sleeves and high slits.

A black dress with a full skirt and a sweetheart neckline was more powerful than sweet, while quilted raincoats with the wide statement lapels looked great, as did the strapless satin jumpsuits.

Colors were strong and included peacock blue, burgundy, black and blood red or, as fans of "The Women" would call it, Jungle Red. The message was loud and clear: don't mess with the ladies of Battaglia and, most importantly, never tell them what to wear.
