Steven Spielberg has done it again: his latest film received a standing ovation at the Toronto Film Festival this weekend...and the Oscars buzz is so strong you'd think it's going down. acts as a chainsaw.

The iconic filmmaker had a full house of ticket holders at TIFF on Saturday to stand up once the credits began rolling at the end of his new offering, 'The Fabelmans,' which is inspired by his own life and his family. . and the story of his entry into the cinema.

According to critics and journalists who were there... it's considered a masterpiece, and possibly one of SS's best projects to date -- which is saying something , of course.

The premise is of a child growing up with a creative mother who loves the arts and nurtures her son's passion for filmmaking, while the father is more grounded and pushes the boy towards a more stable career. Supposedly, it's part drama, part biopic...and most say it's fantastic.

Essentially, it's Spielberg's love letter to the movies - and based on the response it's been getting so far... some think an Oscar favorite has emerged, including on the front of the actors.

Michelle Williams receives rave reviews for her outstanding performance, and Paul Dano also receives accolades for a job well done. Given the Academy's long history of love and voting for movies over movies, this one is sure to do well in awards season.
