It was definitely not on the list of things to do when I landed in Mauritius …but after a lazy morning cooking on the deckchair at Le Méridien Île Maurice, there was only one thing to do: a ten-minute blast in the island's first and only snow cabin!
And the unusual new addition to Explore Spa certainly did not disappoint. Yes, it was a chilling shock to the system – but a welcome shock that I braved much longer than my wife, who found herself in the heat in less than a minute.
Hot-cold therapy has many health benefits, including improved joint and muscle function, blood circulation and the immune system.
But I was glad I did it just to escape the scorching heat.
