What is an NHS Covid pass and when should I use it?

Boris Johnson has ended the government's "Plan B" social restrictions UK to deal with the Omicron variant of the coronavirus in England on February 24, 2022, seemingly drawing a line under the era of lockdown once and for all.

Following the House of Commons decision in January, the Prime Minister said work from home orders, advice on wearing masks in public places and showing NHS Covid passes to enter crowded places should all be dropped as the rise in New Year's infections were declining without leading to the wave of mass hospitalizations feared by experts.

"Places and events will no longer be pl we are required by law to use the NHS Covid Pass," the Department of Health said.

"The NHS Covid Pass can still be used on a voluntary basis, as was previously the case in Plan A."

Now mainly used for journeys within foreign rather than for access to local amenities, the pass was unpopular with many of Mr Johnson's Tory colleagues from its introduction, some of whom saw it as a breach of civil liberties, a position Tory MP Marcus Fysh took to the extreme when he compared its implementation to Nazi Germany. /p>RecommendedCovid News - Live: UK in 'fifth wave' as cases continue to riseCovid news - live: UK in 'fifth wave' as cases continue to rise 2.64139233.j pg?quality=75&width=230&auto=webp " alt="When can I receive my Covid reminder?
