That is certainly the case with the winning images of the One Eyeland Awards 2022, a photo competition that strives to recognize "outstanding photography from around the world".
India-based photo-sharing site One Eyeland was founded by photographer Sharad Haksar in 2008. For its awards, a jury of 29 "esteemed artists" was tasked with choosing the winners from more than 3,600 images from 54 countries.
A heartwarming image of a sleeping baby chimpanzee, an epic shot of a colony of penguins dwarfed by a giant iceberg, and a mesmerizing image of a couple of elephants crossing an African plain are among the popular shots.
However, it is the work of Thai photographer Jatenipat Jkboy Ketpradit that has truly conquered the jury, earning him the title of Photographer of the Year.
