Viola Davis and Lashana Lynch in 'The Woman King' Must-See Trailer

The Woman King Trailer

“Some things are worth fighting for…” Sony has unveiled the first official trailer for The Woman King, a hard-hitting new action thriller Bake which hits theaters exclusively in September. It's finally time to check out this movie! A historical epic inspired by real events that took place in the Kingdom of Dahomey, one of the most powerful states in Africa in the 18th and 19th centuries. The film focuses on General Nanisca of the Dahomey Amazons and Nawi, an ambitious recruit from the Kingdom of Dahomey. He describes how they "fighted enemies who violated their honor, enslaved their people, and threatened to destroy all they lived for." The impressive ensemble cast includes Viola Davis, Thuso Mbedu, Lashana Lynch, Sheila Atim, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, John Boyega and Adrienne Warren. Oh damn yes, it will rule!! Hope the action is good, but everything else in this trailer looks great so far. The dialogue is on the nose but still catchy. Davis and Lynch are superb. I will definitely be watching this movie in theaters when it arrives.

Here is the first official trailer for The Woman King by Gina Prince-Bythewood, on YouTube:
